What Is Deck Replacement?
Deck replacement means removing an old, worn, or unsafe deck and building a new one in its place, often reusing the same footprint but sometimes reworking the layout entirely. In Bonney Lake, WA, replacement usually becomes the right call once a deck's structural components have deteriorated beyond what repair can reasonably fix, or when a homeowner wants a materially different design than what's currently there.
Why You Need It
Continuing to use a deck that's structurally compromised, soft framing, rusted fasteners, posts that have shifted, puts anyone standing on it at risk. Patching around these issues instead of replacing them tends to mask problems rather than solve them, and can end up costing more over time than a clean replacement would have. Deck collapses, while rare, almost always trace back to deferred structural issues.
Our Process
Structural Evaluation
We assess what's failing and confirm whether replacement, rather than repair, is genuinely the right call for your situation.
Demolition and Disposal
The old deck is removed and disposed of responsibly, with attention to protecting landscaping and the home's exterior.
New Construction
We build the replacement to current code standards, whether matching the old footprint or adjusting the design.
Final Inspection
Every new structural connection and surface detail is checked before we consider the replacement complete.
What to Expect
Replacement starts with an honest structural evaluation, since not every worn deck actually needs full replacement. If replacement is the right call, we schedule demolition and new construction as a continuous project rather than leaving your yard with a half-finished structure for weeks. You'll get a clear timeline up front, and we'll flag any surprises, like unexpected framing damage, as soon as we find them.
